Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We built Score to know as little as it needs to.

Draft for review. This text is being finalized with counsel before launch.

The short version

  • We store your credit band and 12-month trend, never your exact score or credit report.
  • Your ID images and ID selfie stay with our verification partner, not on Score’s servers.
  • We don’t sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Other members only ever see what’s on your profile. The member map shows neighborhoods, never people, and only for groups of 25 or more.
  • You can delete your account any time in Settings.

What we collect

You give us

  • Waitlist details: name, email, zip code, what you do, and an invite or referral code if you have one.
  • Account and profile: name, birth year, gender, who you’d like to meet, photos, job, neighborhood, prompts, money values, optional song and Instagram handle.
  • Messages, Notes, date plans and event RSVPs you send through Score.
  • Support requests and reports you file.

From verification

  • Identity: our verification partner tells us whether your ID and selfie check passed, failed or needs review. We don’t receive or store your ID images.
  • Credit: our credit data partner returns your band and trend from a soft inquiry. We don’t receive your score, report, accounts or balances.
  • Photos: we compare each profile photo with a live selfie to confirm it’s you and store only the result and a similarity score. See the Biometric Data Policy.

Automatically

  • Device and usage: device type, browser, app version, pages visited, a random visitor ID and session ID, the referring site, and city-level location derived from your connection. We do not store your IP address in our analytics.
  • Activity used to run the app, such as when you were last active (used for gentle reminders) and notification preferences.
  • Purchase records from Apple, Google and RevenueCat: product, price, store and renewal status. We never see your card number.

How we use it

  • To run Score: create your account, verify you, build your Daily Drop, deliver messages, and process memberships.
  • To keep members safe: detect fake accounts and scams, review reports, enforce our Guidelines, and respond to legal requests.
  • To communicate: account emails, notifications you’ve turned on, and occasional updates you can unsubscribe from.
  • To improve Score: understand which features help people meet, in aggregate.
  • To comply with law and protect our rights.

Who we share it with

Other members see your profile. They see your band, not your score.

Service providers who process data for us under contract and only on our instructions:

  • identity verification (ID and selfie checks);
  • credit data (soft-inquiry band and trend);
  • Amazon Web Services (photo matching);
  • Supabase and Vercel (hosting and databases, in the United States);
  • Resend (email delivery) and web push services operated by your browser or phone maker (notifications);
  • Apple, Google and RevenueCat (subscriptions and purchases);
  • CARTO and OpenStreetMap (map tiles; they see that a map was loaded, not who you are).

Legal and safety: when required by law, or when we believe in good faith it’s necessary to prevent harm or fraud.

Business changes: if Score is involved in a merger or sale, data may transfer under this policy.

We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile disappears immediately and the rest is erased within 30 days, except what we must keep for safety, fraud prevention, legal or tax reasons.
  • Biometric data held by our partners: deleted within 30 days of verification, or sooner when you delete your account.
  • Notifications: removed after 90 days.
  • Waitlist entries: until you join, ask us to remove you, or we close the waitlist.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Score doesn’t sell or share for targeted advertising, so there’s nothing to opt out of there, but you can still exercise the other rights. See Your Privacy Choices.

We won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Security

We use encryption in transit, row-level access controls on our database, encrypted secrets, and least-privilege staff access. Staff actions on member accounts are logged. No system is perfect; if we ever learn of a breach affecting you, we’ll notify you as the law requires.

Age

Score is for adults 25 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has joined, tell us at support@scoredate.app and we’ll remove the account.

Changes

We’ll post updates here and tell you about material changes by email or in the app before they take effect.
